Andre Quaglia is a Department Head of Business, Computer Science, COOP, and SHSM Lead with the Greater Essex County District School Board.  He is charged with leadership responsibilities in the board’s first K to 12 school, a dynamic and diverse learning environment. Duties include providing curriculum leadership, professional development, peer mentoring, and leading school wide initiatives.

Quaglia previously served as Chairperson, Business Studies Council to help facilitate a greater awareness of the subject area to multiple stakeholders. He was tasked with leading discussions with other department heads on a multitude of issues ranging from program planning, marketing, technology trends, and professional development opportunities. He completed his Master of Educational Technology degree in 2011 and is a stakeholder on various school and system level technology committees to help improve student learning.

Quaglia earned his Microsoft Innovative Educator (MIE) credentials. His vision to use affordable mobile devices as a project based learning tool was recognized within the global educational community. As a result, was elevated to the status of Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert (MIEE) in the fall of 2014.Microsoft Certified Educator

Quaglia was named 1 of 5 Canadian Microsoft Innovative Educator Experts to attend the 2015 Microsoft E2 Global Forum Exchange in Redmond Washington.  He currently holds the accreditation of Microsoft Innovative Educator Fellow, Trainer, and is a Certified Microsoft Educator (MCE). He is currently a member of the Microsoft Educational Advisory Board. His work has been documented by a number of different media outlets including;
